Dancing Down the Runway at Athleta Last Week
Last Sunday, we closed out the month of Back to School with a little celebration at Athleta in Bryn Mawr. Obviously we were celebrating the awesome clothes that were the backdrop to our show. But we also celebrated the small dance studio with a huge heart, Start A Movement, located in Narberth.

Tejas Yoga Collective Knows that EveryBODY, Big and Small, Can Benefit from Yoga

Fit4Mom with Kids Who Aren’t Old Enough for School Yet
When you have a little one at home, it’s particularly difficult to get that much needed me-time. I know that I am a better parent when I have had the chance to clear my head with a good sweat. That’s why this workout is so awesome! Fit4Mom is a class that moms can do with or without their little ones in tow. It’s perfect for women with kids that are too young to go to school or who aren’t in school full time (or, in my case, who haven’t started the school year yet). Getting a workout in without having to find (and pay for) child care is a win for everyone!
Ready. Set. Go, Kids! Head Back to School in Style.
It’s still been really hot and muggy here on the east coast this week but the kids started school so I’m ready for you, Fall! And, I can see that those cooler early fall days are just on the horizon. I caught a glimpse of the most perfect evening last night at field hockey practice. We’ll soon be emptying the kids’ drawers of bathing suits and shorts and replacing them with the longer layers. Me and my kids will help prepare you for the transition with two of our favorite kid brands.
Marathon Training Check In
It’s the first week of August and I’m fully enthralled in marathon training. Although I was running in June, because I was so invested in my studio tour, it didn’t really feel like I started my training until July. So it’s now been a month since my brain switched over to marathon mode. I needed to make that mental switch in order to conquer this goal that seemed so personally unachievable for so long. But this blog has been the catalyst to so many personal goals that I decided to take this one on this year.
Fitness Finds on Nantucket
Traveling is a great way to explore the “beyond” of Fitness Finds on the Main Line and Beyond. Bet you didn’t know there was a “beyond” piece to the blog! Well, there is and there always has been, but unfortunately, traveling hasn’t been quite so easy in recent years. I am so grateful for our annual trips to Nantucket to visit dear friends who live there in the summer. So I decided to go on a few fitness adventures while I was visiting the island last week.

June Studio Tour Week 5
The last week of June has come and gone! I count down till the end of the month, but It’s bittersweet for me. On the one hand, making it to every class while juggling family life can be super stressful. But on the other hand, I love the forced opportunity to try so many different classes and meet so many awesome people. I’ve discovered new favorite studios and made new classes part of my regular routine as a result of this June studio tour. Check out where I went the last few days of the month. It was a really good week!
The Main Line Just Got Some Goodness
You may have heard that the Jersey Shore’s juice and smoothie spot, Goodness Bowls, just opened in Villanova so the rest of us can get to experience their tasty treats.
June Studio Tour Week 4
Week 4 of my June studio tour is over and the month is almost out. This week brought some personal challenges, like an aching body, several sick kids and cancelled classes, which caused for some scheduling adjustments. But I managed to get it in and loved every second of visiting new places and meeting new people. Check out where I went this week 4!
June Studio Tour Week 3
Regardless of how my body feels today, I just love doing this studio tour in June. I have met so many awesome people and tried so many cool new workouts that I hope to incorporate into my regular routine. So going for 30 days straight (and having my family deal with me running out on them every day and racing home to edit my video clips so I can share the workout with you guys right away) is totally worth it! So here is a recap of what I did on Week 3. Oh, it was a good one!
June Studio Tour Week 2
This week I got to go from good stretchy Pilates class to peaceful Yin yoga to a satisfying stretch class to healing Reiki. By Friday, I was just floating on into the weekend in the best state of mind and body. So here is how Week 2 of my June studio tour looked.
June Studio Tour Week 1
June is a special month over here on FFML. The month of June is when I visit a different studio and do a different workout EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. And yep, I share it all as I go along. Here is a recap of Week 1.
You Don’t Need to Be a Tourist to Frequent Valley Forge National Historical Park
One of my all time favorite places to run is at Valley Forge National Historical Park. This park is so rich in history and abundant in activity space that the task to blog about it just seemed too great to me for so long. But it has come to my attention that many Main Line residents have never even been to this park or don’t take advantage of the fact that it’s in our backyard! The goal of this post is to make the park less overwhelming and more accessible so that more people will frequent this stunning and fascinating national treasure more regularly.
Why I Decided to Use a Running Coach and Why I am Using Her Again
My goal this year is to run my first full marathon. I am not going for speed. I just want to be able to do it! Running a full marathon is a desire that has always been there for me, but it was a goal that I did not think was attainable. That is until I worked with a running coach.
