Shine In Your Best Colors In and Outside the Gym in 2026

I recently discovered the magic of color analysis. After my first appointment with color specialist Julia Valdesalice, I completely rethought the way I shop for clothes, jewelry and makeup. I finally understood why certain colors made me glow while others fell flat.

With the new year underway—and January being the biggest fitness month of all—there’s no better time to refresh your activewear. And why not exercise in colors that actually make you look energized, confident and leave you glowing in and out of the gym?

Color analysis identifies the shades that suit you best based on your skin tone, hair color, and eye color, creating harmony with your natural coloring. The system is built around four seasons—Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn—but it goes much deeper than that. Each season has variations depending on whether your coloring is warm or cool, light or deep, soft or bright. It’s far more nuanced than you’d expect, which is why I recommend getting professionally analyzed by an expert like Julia.

That said, if you already know your season—or can determine it through an online test—I’ve rounded up activewear picks for each season to help inspire you to tackle those fitness goals this year.

The Winter Season. The winter season is best displayed with jewel tones. The winter colors are bold, cool and high-contrast. If you’re a “Winter”, your coloring tends to be striking—think porcelain skin tones paired with dark hair and bright eyes. Your best colors are black, white, cobalt blue, emerald green and hot pink.

The Spring Season. Spring colors are bright and cheerful. “Springs” often have a light, fresh appearance with golden undertones. The best shades for a “Spring” are coral, peach, mint, turquoise, bright navy, butter yellow and camel.

The Summer Season. The summer season is described as the smokey season. Summer colors are cool, soft and understated. If you’re a “Summer”, your coloring is usually gentle and blended, with low contrast between your hair, skin and eyes. Muted, powdery shades complement you best. Those colors include, dusty rose, lavender, fuchsia pink, soft blue, sage, gray and off white.

The Autumn Season. Autumn colors are warm, rich, and earthy. “Autumns” typically have depth and warmth in their coloring and shine in colors inspired by nature. These shades feel cozy and grounded, like rust, olive green, terracotta, forest green, tomato red and warm brown hues.

When your activewear works with your coloring instead of against it, getting dressed becomes motivating and showing up consistently feels natural. Color analysis isn’t about vanity; it’s about alignment. And all of this applies just as much to your activewear. Choose shades that energize you, fabrics that feel good, and silhouettes that give you confidence— because when you look and feel your best, you do your best.
