“Break a Sweat, Not the Planet” with Allbirds New Activewear Line.
I was pretty stoked when I saw that Allbirds added activewear to their product line. Since the Allbirds sneakers are an incredible, game changing product, I had to see if the activewear followed suit.

Why Aerial Yoga is the Perfect Workout to Try with Your Kids
I knew that Pure Energy in Paoli had this awesome aerial yoga room in their studio. I have heard of aerial yoga but never had the chance to try it. So I thought that putting together a mother-daughter aerial yoga class would be a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with my 11 year old daughter and a group of her friends and mothers. Aerial yoga is a perfect activity for this group because all levels and ages can do the class together. The kids were into it because it’s really fun. The moms were there more for the yoga and the stretching but quickly learned how freeing the aerial tricks can be.

Working Wellness Yoga for Your Kids
Yoga is one of those activities that can and should be added to any kind of training program. The benefits of yoga are countless. And when it comes to kids, there are specific benefits such as better muscle control, increased concentration, proper breathing, and developing flexibility and balance. So many middle school and high school sports teams are calling on the yoga instructors from Working Wellness Yoga to bring yoga onto their fields during practice to increase their athletes’ performance and prevent injury.

CrossFit Main Line Teen and Kid Program in Wayne and Ardmore
CrossFit Main Line has a very strong and supportive teen community, which is not at all surprising since CrossFit Main Line is built around their community. From the moment that I first emailed with Teen Coach, Wendi Wilson, her passion and commitment towards her kids was apparent. Sure, she could train the adults. But, coaching the kids and watching them hit milestones is why she does it.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, especially THIS Year!
To kick off the biggest back to school ever, I teamed up with Athleta in Bryn Mawr for a little back to school shopping event and fashion show. Athleta is all about empowering women and young girls to inspire, connect and support each other to reach their limitless potential. And there could not be a better message for our young ladies to hear. The girls were able to select whatever they wanted to wear in this fashion show. They could chose clothes to support their various activities and have their personalities shine through. Seeing what they each picked and hearing why they chose their outfits was a highlight of this event for me.
Recovery Treatment Part 2: It’s More Than Just a Day at the Spa.
After my morning in Wayne., I headed down to Philly for the second part of my day. I was on my way to my heaven on earth: Rescue Spa in Rittenhouse. The last time I visited Rescue Spa was in the beginning of March 2020, for my 40th birthday, days before the world shut down. And man, how I have missed this place!
Recovery Treatment Part 1: It’s More Than Just a Day at the Spa.
Well, it’s been a nice month of recovery! At the start of the month, I was recovering from breakthrough Covid, which was NOT part of the plan. But this month, I also managed to schedule those recovery days into my week, eat foods that helped to promote healing, wear new recovery footwear and the best part of my month— experiencing a variety of recovery treatments. So let’s jump right in because the month is almost over, and I saved the best for last!
It’s Not About Cute Footwear
I had no clue that recovery shoes were a thing until I was recently chatting with a friend who is training for her 9th marathon. She told me that her recovery shoes are a game changer while she trains and post race. I have never run a full marathon but I have done a few half marathons. And, at the end of each half, it’s always my feet that are in the most pain. So I can see how immediately stripping those sneakers that have carried you for the past 13 miles and putting on shoes that hug and cushion your feet can be a popular thing!
Food is Fuel. Food is Medicine. Food is Fun.
Last week I met Megan Robinson to embark on a nutrition journey with her. Megan is a Board Certified Specialist Sports Dietician and a Level 1 Certified RRCA Running Coach. She has been a distance runner her whole life so she understands first hand what is required to nourish the body when enduring such intensity in training. Megan works with athletes of all ages and levels. Some clients work with her solely for nutrition services. Some just for running. Her two practices clearly work well together so she often advises her clients on both nutrition and running. Her practice is very client focused and tailored to the individual needs of the person. I plan to work with her on both.

No Shame in the Recovery Game
On July 1, I found myself sitting in Dr. Nisha Meyer’s studio getting the royal recovery treatment. And it was heaven: A little massage on my tough spots, followed by some cupping pressure here, some dry heat in the infrared sauna there, and finishing it off with a tight squeeze from the Normatec boots. It got me right! For those of you who don’t know Nisha, she is my physical therapist (PT, DPT). She is up on all of the latest and greatest tools and techniques in her industry. I know I stink when it comes to rest days and have a lot to learn, so I felt like sitting down with Nisha was the best place for me to start.

Backcountry Summer Sale Part 2: Accessories and Footwear
Let’s jump right in because there is soooooo much good stuff on sale that I want to share with you.

Backcountry Summer Sale Part 1: Clothes and Outerwear
Backcountry is having their Semi Annual Summer Sale with prices up to 50% off, so I think its worth a look or two… or 28 (that’s how many favorite pieces that I linked in this article). Since I am still locked in my quarantine room (yep, day 10), I had plenty of time to sift through all the discounted goodies. Here is my first list, which includes my favorite fitness clothes and outerwear on sale.

Working In Working Out When You Travel
Since the blog is just an extension of my life, it makes sense to do a little piece on working out while away. I’m all about balance so I do plan to workout a little, but I will definitely be taking advantage of the ability to sleep in and relax. I can’t remember the last time that was a possibility for me. What’s a vacation (especially, a kid-less vacation) without a little restoration and relaxation for the mind and body?

Counter the Sun for a Cause
WEAR FOR GOOD is a new, local clothing brand, raising money for charities that are near and dear to the heart of the Main Line through their whimsical sun tees, sweaters and loungewear. Each unique design represents a local charity and a large percentage of the proceeds of sales go directly towards that organization.

What I Am Keeping from The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (just in time- the sale opens to the public in a few hours).
EVERYONE can finally shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in just a few hours (3:00 am EST if you want to be the first to shop online. Stores open at 10:00 am)! I have spent some time in the store, online and trying on the activewear and athleisure that is part of this sale to help make your shopping easier. No, I am not keeping everything you have seen on me! It’s called editing, people. And, I like to think that I’m pretty good at it. So here is what I am keeping, and what I am already enjoying.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for the Most Active Little Humans
It’s time for the kiddies to shop the N Sale. This sale is a great time for kids to stock up on basics like underwear and socks, sneakers for their continuously growing feet and everyday clothes for the upcoming school year. The uniform of the little ones tends to be more athleisure and activewear focused. These little humans demand clothes that keep up with their non-stop lives.

Men’s Activewear on Sale at Nordstrom is So Good This Year
I’m blogging in my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale shopping priority order. After I get all of the stuff I want, I turn to the rest of my family. And I am moving onto my husband next. This year, the selection of men’s activewear on sale may even be better than the ladies’. It was easy to get a bunch of great fitness and golf pieces (that can also be worn for casual work days, or days that involve “working” on the golf course).
